November was a busy and inspiring month for the SQUEEZE team!
Let’s start with event number one: A group of our esteemed PatientResearchPartners (PRP) traveled to Brussels to represent their crucial roles in various research projects at the annual EULAR PARE Conference.
Under the theme, “Foster the Future of Expanded PRP Involvement in Rheumatology Research”, attendees explored how engaging patients can elevate research consortia. Our own dear Katy Antonopoulou presented a poster during a plenary session, showcasing SQUEEZE’s progress and unwavering commitment to patient-centered research.
Katy was joined by fellow Patient Research Partners Bertha Maat, Souzi Makri, Ria Brokken, Alison Kent, Margot Bakkers, and Condruta Zabalan, who actively shared their experiences and insights, highlighting how their involvement enriches the project’s impact.
Patient involvement in research is not just a checkbox—it’s a necessity. ☝🏼
Including the patient perspective ensures that studies are not only scientifically rigorous but also relevant and meaningful. By integrating patient voices, we align our efforts with real-world needs, improve outcomes, and build stronger trust between research teams and the communities they serve.
A big thank you also goes out to Diana Clamote Rodrigues, Kristina Chingov (EULAR – European Alliance of Associations for Rheumatology), Caroline Dürrschmid, Paul Studenic (Medical University of Vienna), and Loreto Carmona (Inmusc), who supported the team and demonstrated the collaborative spirit that is driving SQUEEZE forward.
This event was a reminder that research achieves its greatest potential when guided by those it aims to help. We are truly proud to collaborate with this incredible team and are excited for the journey ahead! 🚀💡
