In late September our SQUEEZE partners at Queen Mary University London organised a Patient and Family Day under the headline “Advance your Understanding of Arthritis and Autoimmune Disease”.

The Family Day featured a pizza truck, a photo booth and lots of exciting talks about Arthritis and other Autoimmune Diseases.

The SQUEEZE project was featured via a poster showcasing the WP4 BioTest trial, which is designed to check if the amount of certain markers found in the tissue affected by the disease (called “synovial tissue”, which is found in the joints) influences how well patients respond to a specific type of arthritis medication known as “targeted DMARDs”. These medications are designed to act on specific parts of the disease process in rheumatoid arthritis. By conducting this trial, we hope to understand better which patients will benefit the most from these treatments based on the levels of these markers in their joint tissue.
